System of Equations
A set of equations solved at the same time
Core Idea
A system of equations asks for values that make several equations true at once. In linear algebra, many such systems can be written compactly as Ax=b, which makes their structure easier to analyze.
Role In This Blog
In Mathbong, systems of equations are the entry point to Gaussian elimination, pivots, free variables, rank, null space, and the structure of solution sets.
